01: Spyros Kourelis to Kostas Kourelis, Chicago, 1910

Postcard to Kostas Kourelis, residing in Chicago, from his relative Spyros Koureslis, also in Chicago, with happy name day wishes. Signed June 2 and postmarked June 3, 1910. Kostas Kourelis (1879-1947) was born in the village of Gardiki, Phthtiotis. He migrated to the U.S. in 1907, returned to Greece, married, started a family in village Leukada, and migrated again to the U.S in 1924. According to family stories, he lived in Chicago and worked as a dishwasher. He returned to Greece and died in 1947. His youngest son Vasilios Kourelis (1929-1993) migrated to the U.S. as well.
